|Description||A breathing study for intonation? from analog to digital. The performer tries to harness an out of control, preserved flute melody with a breath of air. At the same time, the flute is stuffed with cotton, and so gradually the correct flute melody disappears..|
|Documentation||Videodokumentation auf DVD|
|Material||The flute is prepared with a small-membrane microphone. The microphone is attached to the blowhole of the flute. Through the blowing, the microphone which is wired to a computer processor, controls the filter frequence via the audio signal. The stronger the air flow, i.e. the performers breath, the more the filter decreases. Thus, the audio signal gradually becomes less audible, until it disappears completely. An additional dynamic microphone is used for controlling vibrato and pitch. A small table with cotton wool and a flute cleaning swab is prepared for the performer.|
